I don’t call…I don’t write…

Hi everyone! I know it’s been like two months since I have posted anything, but what can I say…I am lazy at times. I mean sometimes I just don’t like typing after doing it all day

I hope everyone is doing well (all 5 people who read this blog)! Things have been busy around here. Jake is growing like a weed these days, and seems like he is always learning something new. I guess one of the more recent accomplishments is him starting to pull up on the furniture.

He of course goes everywhere now. I am not sure what I would call his style of movement; it’s some sort of hybrid crawl. He uses one leg and his arms to propel forward and the other leg just comes along for the ride. That leg’s knee seems to have a bit rougher skin than the other (ahhhh the joys of carpet burn).

Jake is all boy too. The kid is fearless and wants to explore everything. We caught him climbing the first 3 stairs the other day and also trying to get behind the entertainment center. Anywhere he is not suppose to be…he is. Anything he is not suppose to have…goes in his mouth. And he is SO DETERMINED ABOUT EVERYTHING. Jake does not give up if he wants something. He will crawl for it…I pull him back. Then he goes for it again, and then I pull him back. He pretends to play with something else for a while, and then goes for it again. I think Moose is teaching him some tricks.

Speaking of Moose, he is doing AMAZING with Jake. I never could have imagined how great he would interact with him. Jake is constantly taking toys from Moose, pulling Moose’s skin and hair, and even grabbing bones from his mouth. Moose never cares and always just lets him do what he wants. I mean the dog is not stupid. If Jake pulls his hair, he walks away (so it does not get pulled again). However, he never gets upset with Jake or do anything but show love. Our dog just rocks!

Elizabeth is still really enjoying her weekend night shift. We definitely have worked out a system where we get to maximize our time together. Lately it has been nice, since Elizabeth has had at least one weekend day off each month. I have also taken more time off at work (so we get to hang out/go places some during the week each month). We had planned to go to a Braves game with Kevin, Tiph, and Jack on 7/18, but due to Jake being pretty sick that week…the plans got canceled. We ended up just giving the tickets away to Blake and going to Alabama for the day to see my grandma. I guess our next event will be on 8/1 – 8/2 when we head to Alabama again for my 10 year high school class reunion. It should be an interesting time.

Well I guess that qualifies for a good summary (for now). I have some new Jake pics that I will try and post soon. Later.
